About Me

Deborah Burton – Founder Senior’s Choice Consulting

I have worked in various roles in healthcare, public health research and elder advocacy for over 30 years.

I enjoy public speaking and have given presentations for dozens of groups who want to learn more about aging safely in the community, what to look for when selecting a long term care facility and recognizing and reporting elder abuse.

I hold a Master’s of Science in Gerontology in the Management of Aging Services and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.  I am a member of the Gerontological Society of America. I am an inductee of Sigma Phi Omega (SPO), the International Academic Honor and Professional Society in Gerontology.

I am a member of Congressman Langevin’s “Senior Advisory Committee,”  regularly participate in the Lieutenant Governor’s Long Term Care Coordinating Council (LTCCC), the Rhode Island Elder Mental Health and Addiction Coalition (RIEMHAC) and the Rhode Island Minority Elder Task Force (RIMETF).

I am a monthly contributor to the Senior Digest. I spend my free time reading gerontology journals and keeping up to date in the field of aging.

Most importantly, I am passionate about sharing information about Elder Care and Elder Issues!
